      Upon reading page one story in  Austin American-Statemen  (01.11.04) I
prepared a proposed response as noted below.

      Please give me your comments,addtions, and/or corrections before I
submit it  to the Editor.

        Dear Sir:

          Please consider for publication the following  "Letter to the
Editor".

			       	West Campus redux plan envisions a
"University Village" 

	Congratulation goes to the comprehensive zoning plan, which will
ultimately re-vitalize all of Austin's residential neighborhoods adjoining
UT.  Students, developers, and the owners in the adjoining single-family
residential neighborhoods will certainly embrace the concept of an
encapsulated densely populated "University Village" consisting of
multi-story modern apartment buildings with street-level commercial shops. 
	Adoption of "University Village" zoning plan will ensure enhancement
of  Judges Hill Neighbor by stopping encroachments of new super-duplexes and
degradation of  its  large older  homes into student flophouses.   JHNA
seeks to preserve its stately old historic homes and upgrade the quality of
urban single-family life by designating our area as an "Historic District"
