Dear President Bill and Neighbors,

Here is my reflection thus far on Mr. Hale's proposal.  Let us not negotiate from a position of fear.  Mr. Hale's proposal is quite dense. If I recall correctly, the Chestnut Condos started out with a much higher density proposed than was eventually negotiated between the developer and the neighborhood.  I think we should leave the zoning MF-4 and work closely with Mr. Hale on individual variances.  This "slows the process down" so we can have better time to consider the individual factors, especially density.  It also avoids, as Ben Schotz pointed out, setting a precedent by voluntarily surrendering a zoning change that the neighborhood worked so hard to maintain.
