Dear JHNA:
The following two motions were passed with a quorum present on September 30th, 2003:
Motion #1: Judge’s Hill Neighborhood Motion to negotiate for 19th and West -
a) The density and high-end value of the development shall be compatible with the existing structures in the neighborhood.
b) Desirable height would be no higher than the current multi-family dwellings existing in the neighborhood.
c) Parking and its entrance must be concealed from street view
Appearance and Landscaping must be compatible with the historic character of the neighborhood. An example is the Chestnut condominium on San Gabriel and on 18th Street
Minimum of 90% of units must be owner occupied.
Motion #2: Judge’s Hill Neighborhood Motion to designate historic properties -
a) All buildings constructed prior to 1950 will be designated “historic” by JHNA and have appropriate protection at the request of the owner.
b) All buildings constructed prior to 1925 will be designated “premier historic” by JHNA and have appropriate extra protection at the request of the owner.
Considering the large number of historic properties and residents in Judges Hill over the last century, JHNA declares the area to be of such importance that unique protections are deemed necessary by all levels of government and authoritative bodies.
Regards,
Mark Seeger, Secretary - JHNA
