Dear JHNA:

 Last week our JHNA President, Bill Monroe, at Mr. Hale's request , met with
several members of the JHNA and Mr. Hale to learn about possible future
development of the parcel of land at the corner of MLK and West Ave.  Mr.
William Hale, who has an option to purchase the property, is seeking a
formal opinion from
JHNA regarding his plans for the development of the parcel.  The location
under consideration is the same parcel that JHNA protested the development
of a parking garage and building aproximately 2 years ago.

Mr. Hale's #1 proposal is to build a structure that contains 68, 2 bedroom
condominium units which would include 138 parking spaces in a garage
facility with entrances and exits on MLK and West Avenue.  He came to the
JHNA to seek our input on changing the existing zoning from Multi-Family 4
and LO to new zoning of Multi-Family 6 which would allow him to achieve
the density he is seeking for his proposed condominum development.  Mr. Hale
has agreeded to have restrictive covenants be put in place that would
favorable to JHNA.

As a result of this initial meeting with this potential developer, our
President would like to invite the entire neighborhood association to
collectively learn more about the project and establish a formal position
that can be shared with Mr. Hale.  The meeting will also have a regular
agenda for members and Committees to raise other topics.
